Christmas in Bulgaria

                                                        images (1)

Bulgarians celebrate Christmas on December 25, though this is somewhat unexpected because Bulgaria is an Orthodox country. The traditional Eastern Orthodox celebration of Christmas lands on January 7. Bulgaria’s Orthodox Church follows the Gregorian calendar, which means its religious observances are in keeping with those in the West.

            Bulgarian Traditions
The Christmas traditions are an integral part of the festive season and these typically include fasting, enjoying special meals, attending church and singing carols around the village. Families also get together and decorate Christmas trees with curios. The young men in Bulgaria parade around and sing Christmas carols for random strangers. The ‘Sooroovachka ‘ is a tradition where the younger members of the family such as children and grandchildren, pat the elders on their backs/heads while making wishes for their health and prosperity. The patting is usually done with a stick and is signifies good times to come the following year.

Christmas Eve In Bulgaria                                                                                                                                              Bulgarian Christmas Eve is celebrated with a feast consisting of an odd number of dishes leading upto the forty days Advent fast. On this day, no meats are consumed and the meals are vegetarian. These meals include grains, vegetables, nuts, wine and an exotic array of fruit. Walnuts, in particular, are a Bulgarian Christmas must-have on the feast table.

            Bizarre Bulgarian Christmas Trivia
A zany Bulgarian ritual states that after feasting on Christmas Eve, no one is allowed to clear the table. All the leftovers and the dishes are left as it is on the table, and the families retire to bed. It is said that ancestral ghosts and spirits will come and dine on the left over food at the table.

Christmas in Belarus

In Belarus, Orthodox believers celebrate Christmas on 7 January in accordance with the Julian calendar, whereas Catholics and Protestants celebrate Christmas on 25 December, using the Gregorian calendar. Traditionally, Belarusians celebrated Christmas over a two week stretch, a period traditionally called Kaliady, it is a fusion of the Christian holiday of Christmas and the pagan holiday of winter solstice

The Christmas in Belarus is a major occasion for celebration.

The interesting blending of the old and the new makes the Christmas in Belarus an unique event. The most symbolic factor categorizing the Christmas in Belarus is the Kolyady or the Christmas carols.

Simultaneous a visit to the church or the cathedral is an important ceremony reinforcing the religious aspect of the Belarus Christmas.

Another component which chiefly enhances the festive mood for Christmas in Belarus are the elaborate feasts where boiled rice is taken with raisins and honey, several pies as well as gammon and a goose.

Along with these, dishes are also made out of mushrooms; the herring, vereschaka, boiled fruits, oats kissel are the other traditional items in the Christmas feast.  This is indeed an interesting innovation.

The whole atmosphere that characterizes the Christmas in Belarus is fascinating with the natural surroundings finely spread in the enormous sheets of frost and snow. With beautiful and bright garlands and small green and silvery Christmas trees adorning the landscape, you will experience an enriching view of this Belarus Holiday.

3D printing

14-up4564 Printer

Chuck Hull is the inventor of 3D printing. He knew his invention would take up to 30

years to find people’s home. That prediction proved correct as the realistic prospect of widespread commercial 3D printers has only emerged in recent years.  Manufacturers have quietly used 3D printing technology — also known as additive manufacturing — to build models and prototypes of products over the past 20 years. Charles Hull invented the first commercial 3D printer and offered it for sale through his company 3D Systems in 1986. Hull’s machine used stereolithography, a technique that relies upon a laser to solidify an ultraviolet-sensitive polymer material wherever the ultraviolet laser touches.

The technology remained relatively unknown to the greater public until the second

decade of the 21st century. A combination of U.S. government funding and commercial startups has created a new wave of unprecedented popularity around the idea of 3D printing since that time.

3D printing  is the use of one of various processes to make a three-dimensional object. In 3D printing, primarily additive processes are used, in which successive layers of material are laid down under computer control. These objects can be of almost any shape or geometry, and are produced from a 3D model or other electronic data source. A 3D printer is a type of industrial robot.

3D printing is used in medicine, architecture, industrial production, in education. For

example in medicine using the 3D printing for the production of human organs, prosthesis.  There are advantages and disadvantages of 3D printing.

Advantages : affordable pricing, huge variety, improved life quality, increasing

productivity.

Disadvantages : harm authenticity, printing weapons, scan and fraud.

Using 3D printer people can make absolutely any items and objects. Finally, 3D Printers are making things that are actually useful.

                                                                            3Doodler

3Doodler is the world’s first and only 3D Printing Pen. Using ABS plastic (the material used by many 3D printers), 3Doodler draws in the air or on surfaces. It’s compact and easy to use, and requires no software or computers. You just plug it into a power socket and can start drawing anything within minutes. Plug in your 3Doodler 3D Printing Pen and give it about a minute to warm up. Then insert a strand of plastic into the back. There are two arrows and thus two speeds. Press the speed of your choice, and watch the plastic flow out of the 3Doodler 3D Printing Pen. And then you just draw and connect and fill in and make magic happen.

The pen: The 3Doodler pen is 180mm by 24mm. The pen weighs less than 200 grams or 7 ounces (the weight of a typical apple), although the exact weight will depend on the final shell specifications once in production.

  The 3Doodler Includes:

    • 3Doodler Printing Pen
    • Protective Tip Cover
    • Stunning box with classic 3Doodler line art
    • 50 strands of ABS plastic

The creative opportunities are endless, including:

  • Basic 3D shapes and 3D models
  • Jewellery, pendants and hanging ornaments
  • Decorative art and fridge magnets
  • Personalization of everyday objects (iPhone cases, laptops, pens, etc.)
